Only Farmers, For All Fans
WORDS BY Caro Templeton
Maybe it happened over a pint at The Farmer's Dog, or whilst scratching the ear of a pot-bellied pig, or midway through mucking out the cows whilst idly browsing a certain fan creator platform. Perhaps it was a combination of all three, but a lightbulb moment hit Queen of the Cotswolds, Lisa Hogan, with the blinding light of a midnight combine harvester.
Just like its inspiration, OnlyFarmers.co.uk aims to do for farms what OnlyFans did for content creators. It is an online platform for farmers to connect with each other, to share and help monetise their farms. “Farms are one of this country's most undervalued assets and we are here to help them monetise that and become as discoverable as possible,” co-founder and CEO, Wolfe Bentinck, explains. Wolfe left the bright lights of New York City for the gently undulating hills of the Cotswolds and runs the whole operation from the kitchen table in his Charlbury cottage. He is also Lisa Hogan's son, and co-founder with his mother, saying, “It's great to work for Mum, she is such a hard worker and always doing a million things”.
For keen followers of the hit TV show Clarkson's Farm, Lisa's work ethic comes as no surprise. As well as starring on the show alongside her partner, the indomitable Jeremy Clarkson, Hogan also helps to run the farm, heads up all branding and marketing and co-founded the Diddly Squat Farm Shop outside Chadlington. It was in this shop that the seed for Only Farmers was really sown, when farmers from all over the country would stop in and get chatting to Lisa about their own struggles marketing their small family farms and the myriad inventive, diversified experiences and stays they had to offer. Jeremy Clarkson agrees: “There are experiences in the countryside you never knew existed.” Experiences such as baby goat yoga, alpaca petting, cider making, beekeeping, fly fishing, cheese making, camping under the stars... the list goes on.
And the list is now live and active on OnlyFarmers.co.uk and, at the time of writing, 1,300 farms have already signed up to the platform, boasting over 180 stays and experiences. “As soon as anyone thinks of doing anything in the countryside, you go straight to our app,” explains Wolfe. The app is free to join and use; Only Farmers takes a minimal fee (less than half of what Airbnb or Booking.com charge) for any bookings that come via the site.
Alongside connecting farms to the outside world, they are also connecting farmers to each other. The platform has many user-led forums, aptly called ‘Herds', where farmers can share anything from equipment for hire and job posts to livestock for sale and upcoming events. There is even a single farmers' thread, where Wolfe says it is entirely up to them “if farmers want to take off their wellies and get muddy”.
Despite having only launched in May 2026, Lisa and Wolfe already have big plans for the future of Only Farmers: they hope to expand into a Farm 2 Fork platform where farmers can sell their produce directly online, and eventually take Only Farmers across the seas from the USA to Canada via Australia and New Zealand. “Only Farmers, for everyone,” affirms Lisa.
Until then, thanks to this enterprising duo's hard work, we can support our farmers back home and finally go beyond the gates to explore the stunning landscapes that make up every great view up and down this country. From the southernmost tip all the way to the Orkney Islands.
You ‘herd' it here first.
